AKA RJ THE Magician is a rising star in new york City. In a life threatening trek across the country from Wisconsin (Home of Houdini) RJ moved to nYC in August of 2019. With no plans and virtually no money RJ first received recognition being hired as the Director of the Houdini Museum of NYC at the age of 23. RJ has since been featured in: Time Out, Complex, A.M. New York, Fox NY, NBC NY, TED, NPR, and the New York Times. RJ is a very vocal supporter of the fight for equality and is known for his support of women, Black people and the LGBTQ+ community.

The Nomad
RJ began his career teach magic over the summers at the famous "French Woods Festival of the performing Arts" Summer camp (NY, 2015-2017). There he learned magic himself and was able to teach thousands of children magic, including the children of celebrities like: Ben Stiller, Debora Messing and Alicia Keys. He was then able to take the skills he learned in New York to Shanghai, China. In 2018 RJ was able to travel to china to start the first summer camp Magic program in the country.

The Cheesehead
RJ was raised in Racine Wisconsin born to Jehovah's witness parents., an unfortunate situation. Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe in college or the practice of magic. Naturally RJ attended the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and graduated in 2019 with a degree in communication/Rhetoric. RJ is very grateful that he graduated in 2019 and not 2020 considering the world wide corona pandemic. sabatageing the fledgling carreers of so many graduates.

THE Rhetor
With a rhetoric degree and a comedy podcast RJ is an excellent public speaker. He is known to speak and write on topics from racial injustice to magic/business. In 2016 RJ gave a TED Talk Entitled The "Ham Sandwwich". RJ has been a guest on multiple podcasts and radio shows including New York Public Radio's Livestreamed show "The Greene Space"

The Producer
With his communication skills RJ also works as a Magic Publicist and Event producer for some of the biggest names in magic. He successfully pulled off multi year runs of his monthly 3-course dinner magic show (Now serving magic '16-'19) as well as the Hit Secret show at the Houdini Museum in NYC , featured by time out. THE Style
RJ's style can best be described extremely animated performances combined with, fresh comedy punctuated with a dazzling smile. RJ also hosts his own podcast I Hate everyone and is a writer/Historian. RJ is known as one of the foremost experts on the history of Houdini as well as the History of Black Magicians. RJ was featured in the Smithsonian Channel's The Curious life and death(2020) as a houdini Expert.
Q:Who Hires RJ?
A:Do not let the palatability of this website deceive you, RJ is far from a children's entertainer. RJ performs comedy magic at Comedy Clubs, Corperate events, Theaters, Burlesque/Variety Shows, museums and even Virtually.
Q: What Does it look like?
A: RJ offers a 40-75 minute comedy magic "stage show". WHile most magicians specialize in close up magic RJ specializes in comedy group performances that provide great opportunities for video/pictures, custimization and a chance for everyone to see magic.
